THE MATERIAL / PUEBLO
Leather with a life of its own.
Pueblo is a full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather made by Badalassi Carlo in Tuscany, Italy. Its softly textured, matte surface gradually takes on a deeper color and sheen as you carry it.
WHY WE CHOOSE IT
Made to be kept.
We choose Italian Pueblo for its natural character and the patina it develops through use. Each piece takes maker time and material selected for your color pairing. That is part of its price, and part of why it feels personal from the first day.
Our aim is to make work you would still want to carry decades from now—even 50 years on. That is a goal, not a guaranteed lifespan: use, construction, storage, and care all affect how long any leather good lasts.
PUEBLO CARE
A simple routine.
- 01
Let the patina happen.
Carry it, then wipe surface dust with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Color and sheen will change naturally, especially where your hands touch the leather.
- 02
Keep water brief.
Pueblo is not waterproof. Avoid soaking and prolonged dampness. If it gets wet, blot gently and let it dry slowly at room temperature, away from direct heat or strong sunlight.
- 03
Clean lightly.
For a small mark, try a clean cloth barely dampened with water, first in an inconspicuous spot. Do not scrub, saturate, or use household cleaners. Some marks become part of the patina.
- 04
Condition only when needed.
Do not oil a new Pueblo wallet as routine maintenance. If the leather later feels persistently dry, ask us about a suitable leather conditioner; test a tiny hidden area first and use sparingly. Conditioners can darken the leather and change its matte finish.
Keep the piece out of prolonged direct sun when storing it. If you are unsure about a stain or treatment, ask us first. As we introduce other leathers, we will add their care guidance here; this routine is for Pueblo.
